Leave the insurance headache to TLC.

If you believe damage to your vehicle from the recent Colorado hail storms may deem it a total loss, we are here to help. Our team prides itself on helping customers navigate the total loss process — start to finish.

Your vehicle must remain at our shop so we can process and assess the damage. TLC stores your vehicle while you and your insurance provider come to an agreement on the terms of the claim. Your insurer pays the agreed total loss amount — and TLC pays you an additional $250.

Do not settle for less.

There are many factors that determine how a vehicle is deemed a total loss. Our team is here to advocate for you. Call 720-712-3561 to schedule your vehicle and receive $250.

Colorado law · C.R.S. § 42-6-102(17)(a)

There is no salvage title on a Colorado hail damage claim.

The legal definition of a "salvage vehicle" specifically excludes vehicles declared a total loss solely due to hail damage. If your vehicle is totaled from hail in Colorado, you retain a clean title.

Insurance claim guide

What actually happens during a total loss claim.

Every carrier runs the same basic playbook. Knowing each stage — and what they are looking at — is the difference between the first offer and a fair one.

  1. 01

    Day 0–1

    File the claim

Report the loss to your carrier and get a claim number. You need eligible full coverage on the date of the claim — comprehensive covers hail, collision covers impact. Liability alone will not cover a total loss.

  2. 02

    Day 1–3

    Inspection & documentation

An adjuster or photo-estimate app reviews the damage. We photograph every panel, log options and trim, capture mileage and service history, and put a complete file in front of your adjuster.

  3. 03

    Day 3–10

Repair estimate vs. actual cash value

The insurer compares the repair estimate to your vehicle's actual cash value. When repairs approach their threshold, the vehicle is declared a total loss instead of being repaired.

  4. 04

    Day 7–21

    Valuation & negotiation

The first offer is built from comparable listings and condition adjustments — and it is a starting point, not a final number. Wrong trim, missing options, or unlogged condition can cost thousands.

  5. 05

    Settlement

Keep it or turn it over

You decide whether to retain the vehicle or surrender it to your insurer, based on your settlement agreement. If you turn it over, collect all belongings from the vehicle first.

  6. 06

    Payout

You get paid — plus $250

Your insurer pays the agreed total loss amount, and TLC hands you an additional $250 check. Your vehicle must be scheduled in and remain at our shop through the agreement.

Have this ready

The stronger your documentation, the harder it is for a carrier to undervalue your vehicle.

  • Policy declarations page (proof of full coverage)
  • Claim number and adjuster contact
  • Current mileage and VIN
  • Trim level, packages, and factory options
  • Service and maintenance records
  • Recent tires, battery, or major repairs with receipts
  • Pre-storm photos of the vehicle, if you have them
  • Loan or lease payoff amount, if financed
